Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label debuted her first EP, Pho, in October 2016 where she started to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 when she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued to post her music on the internet, including her independent single Bound. The song Sweat it included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole had her sing her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to collaborate with her on some references. The news was released on December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she co-wrote with Cozz to record the collaboration album Revenge of the Dreamers II. She released Pho, her debut EP, on October 21 the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing as part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream, from the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a an accompanying music video. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released her debut album No One, and Pedigree. She then appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album the same title. It was released with a music video in February 20th, 2019 that surpassed three million views via YouTube within its first seven days. As a supporting act, she toured with 6LACK during December 2018 on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
